Trance is another revitalized fragrance. It's hypnotic and at the same time an intoxication of all senses: moving, intense and ambiguous. It reflects Berlin: modernity versus tradition, man or woman... like the transformation from innocence to guilt.
When Houdini was seducing women with his magic tricks, the Trance perfume by J.F. Schwarzlose already existed. Even today, the fragrance captures customers with its magical notes of Turkish rose, rose absolute, and a precious hint of oud. A poster for the perfume from the early 20th century was based on the magician's magic tricks. Harry Houdini, who fascinated both women and men, was known for his tricks where he made animals like elephants disappear. He was famous in America and England, but his most important market remained Germany. The Schwarzlose family was also internationally known because family members sold various perfume brands all over the world. They dedicated the Trance perfume poster to Houdini. The advertisement showed an enchanted woman who couldn't escape the seductive scent of Trance. Max Schwarzlose, who launched the fragrance at the time, called it the "ladies' talisman".
