Gritti Venetia

Today the perfumes are the work of Luca Gritti. Before launching a brand of his own he spent years as a contract manufacturer for large cosmetics companies, taking over the family business in the early 2000s. He founded his brand in 2010 and runs it as creative director. He chooses the ingredients himself, travels to find them, and is not afraid of the more demanding fragrance families.

Gritti is a family business that makes everything in house, at its own facility near Bologna: from the formula to filling the bottles by hand and the final packaging. The family motto, Sustinet nec fatiscit, roughly "don't let difficulties stop you", sums up the spirit of the house.

The range is large and split into collections with clear identities. The Black Collection holds Luca's most personal work, including 19-68, Decimo and Rebellion. The White Collection explores femininity through florals, fruit and gourmand notes, with names like Chantilly, Rebrodè and Macramè, and hand-made caps. I Turchesi pays tribute to southern Italy and its colours, and is home to Pomelo Sorrento. Gritti Privé, in velvet boxes, and the Ivy Collection complete the picture.
