Chiesa d'Oro: Perfume Inspired by the Sacred Drawers of St. Mark's Basilica in Venice
Chiesa d'Oro evokes almost oriental aromas, reminiscent of spices (from Latin species, special and valuable goods) that arrived by sea to the lagoon city. In Venice, the spice sellers combined these ingredients, carefully dosing them and selling them in small packets known as “Venetian sachets”. From that moment on, Venice and the whole world could no longer do without spices, used not only to flavor food, but also to give solemnity and preciousness to the rites in its cathedral, adorned with splendid gold mosaics.
