ETRANGO is a complex perfume – lively, confident, exotic, and irreverent – just like the city of Berlin. The eleventh fragrance by J.F. Schwarzlose is a kaleidoscope for all the senses. Every single olfactory note is an invitation to the varied show of imagination.
A place where patchouli, tree moss, and sensual cypriol dance in the underground, just before elegant Damask rose and Arabian jasmine call to the light of the metropolis. A place where aromas oscillate between seduction and delicacy to inspire imagination 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. ETRANGO contains both the French word “étrange” (strange, unknown) and the English term “strange”; but it also sounds like “tango”. Thus, ETRANGO invites metropolitan molecules to dance, stimulates curiosity for the unknown, and leaves the ordinary behind.
J.F. Schwarzlose Berlin rewrites an exciting chapter in its history with ETRANGO. When the original ETRANGO was launched in 1929, it was presented in a bottle featuring a stylized silhouette of a metropolis. The fragrance was described as a “fantasy perfume – distinct, innovative, powerful, and long-lasting”. In his contemporary reinterpretation of the bottle design, Lutz Herrmann evolves these visual characteristics and cites iconic forms in a confident, elegant, timeless, and urban way. This comes to life in still-life images, lettering, and the label on the 100 ml EdP bottle.
