Inspired by the drawers of the sacristy of the Milan Cathedral

The name “aquilonare”, comes from the late Latin aquilonaris, which means northern. This terminology is linked to the ancient sacristy of the Milan Cathedral, the first nucleus of the cathedral, whose construction began in 1386. At the time, the urban center was densely populated with buildings. The sacristy was the first structure completed after the laying of the first stone of the cathedral. Inside, in addition to refined marbles, sculptures and frescoes, there are numerous pieces of furniture and drawers. Still today, priests use these spaces to dress in preparation for sacred rites.
